Happy Earth Day, Her Campus Readers! It’s rather appropriate that it’s raining today in Harrisonburg, Virginia. But I’ve got to say – April showers better bring me some darn May flowers! Who can complain though? Spring weather is always a little kooky and summer is just around the corner!
Want to find the best way to celebrate this green holiday? Head over to Starbucks with your reusable mug to get a free brewed coffee or tea. Who doesn’t love saving Mother Earth by using one less cup and getting rewarded for it?! Don’t believe me? Check it out HERE!
Want more ways to show your love? Check out all the new content on hercampus.com/jmu! Learn how to eat healthier on campus (that’s a lovely Earth Day idea!), dress for the changing weather in shorts, procrastinate appropriately for finals week (eeek!), the truth about Adderall, and some fun facts about JMU’s myths!
Hello lovely readers! Doesn’t it feel great to be on spring break (sorry if you’re not)? I cannot wait to just relax and have a week long break from work. If your weekend couldn’t get any better then just wait… New content?! Awesome!
-Nicole Napolitano gives you some great advice on how to survive the potentially long drive home from school in Road Trippin’ Ain’t Easy!
-Lauren Fisher talks about a sad reality some students might face in College Life Changes When You Have Cancer.
Hope you enjoyed your last weekend before spring break! Get ready for the final push til summer!
Here’s a little clip from my weekend… Just teasing!

Two things:
1. If you’re reading this, then you probably attend James Madison University, named after our beloved fourth president.
2. We, the students of JAMES MADISON University, did not get the day off for PRESIDENT’S Day. What’s up with that?!
Because state universities obviously don’t care about the same holidays that post offices celebrate, then enjoy some peaches… with The Presidents of the United States of America. (’90s bands don’t get better than this. THROW BACK!)
Also, new content is up! Check it out! (You know you want to!)
-Morgan Gabaly helps you survive your first date with that new cutie in her new article, Conquer Those First Date Nerves!
-Brittany Kensella interviewed JMU’s newest campus celebrity, in Amanda Tram: President of the Newest Sorority on Campus, Phi Mu.
-Yours truly (moi!) interviewed an Egyptian exchange student at JMU to see how the revolution abroad has affected her in Egyptian Revolution.
HC love,
Sam
It’s starting to feel more and more like spring every day this week in Harrisonburg! Technically it is not spring until March 20 (countdown to free Rita’s day: 31), but it definitely doesn’t feel like winter.
The most annoying part of crazy weather for a girl? Picking out an appropriate outfit to wear. Here are some cute “sprinter” (like my combo of spring and winter?) outfit ideas that mix both season’s trends for you to get inspired by…
Sunshine love,
Alexa
P.S. Looking for something to do tonight? Andrew Jenks from MTV’s “World of Jenks” will be at JMU!!
The 2011 Grammy Awards aired this Sunday and I don’t know about you but my favorite part, aside from finding out who won Best Supporting Executive Voice Over Musical Actor, is seeing what the stars are wearing! Stars like Heidi Klum, Leann Rimes, Snooki, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, J. Lo, and Kim Kardashian all wore trend-setting glittery dresses (that’s a lot of sparkle!). Other stars decided to start their own wacky trends: Katy Perry wore angel wings, Nicki Minaj wore a sky-high leopard wig (and matching jumpsuit), and Lady Gaga, um, hatched from an egg!

Happy Assessment day everyone!
